U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) – Effectively Incorporating the U=U Message into your HIV Prevention and Care Programs
We now have the science to say that a person living with HIV, engaged in effective treatment and with an undetectable viral load, cannot transmit HIV to their sexual partners. This interactive workshop will explore the background and science that have brought us to this groundbreaking moment in HIV prevention and care. We will examine the language needed to carry the message to professionals and clients, as well as the potential benefits to diminishing HIV stigma and engaging individuals living with HIV, in effective treatment. Attendees will develop an understanding how U=U fits into NYS three point plan for ending the AIDS epidemic, as well as how to incorporate the u=u message into all aspects of your HIV prevention and care programs.
