The Board of Directors of the LICC regularly seeks new Board members to ensure that we reflect the diversity of the individuals and community that we support. Candidates should also have an expertise in nonprofit governance, business finance, fundraising, marketing, communications and/or a legal background. Potential members should understand the expectations of being a Board member and be committed to the mission of LICC.

About 25 years ago I contacted LICC to apply as a volunteer. I wanted to do something, to be of help to the Long Island community. After a year’s training I became a hotline counselor for many years, eventually joining the Board of Directors and becoming Treasurer. My service and commitment to the Board is deeply fulfilling. LICC represents that which is indispensable to a varied populace that lacks recognition appreciation, respect, support, and funding. I am proud to be a part of one of the most efficient, effective community safety nets in the country.
