You’re Invited to our Online Counselor Training Program

Beginning August 6, 2020

Dear Counselor Assistant,

First, we send our well wishes that you and your family are doing well and staying healthy. We also want to thank you for your patience and understanding, as LICC navigates the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a challenge to keep the service fully operational, but the work must continue — especially now.

That is why we have decided to add a new option for our training program: LICC Counselor Training Virtual Track. While the content will be the same, the format will be a little different.

Virtual Track Format

Timeframe & Important Dates

Each week you will be expected to complete an online learning module AND attend a Zoom info session each Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM.  These online learning module should take between an hour and an hour and a half to complete, and may be done at your convenience any time before the Thursday evening Zoom info session.

These Thursday Zoom info sessions will run from August 6 through approximately October 22. (Each week, the Zoom session will begin with an overview of the online learning module and will give you a chance to ask questions.)

All components of the Classroom Phase will be completed online, with the exception of the required two-day ASIST training, which is a suicide intervention training that takes place over the course of two, consecutive 8-hour days. (This training must be done in person and we are hopeful that we will be able to provide this training safely in October.) Your ASIST training is scheduled for October 17th & 18th, from 9am-5pm both days, so please be sure to mark your calendar.
